Laser Tattoo Removal
Laser tattoo removal is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses high-intensity pulses of light energy to fade or eliminate an unwanted tattoo.
Here is a breakdown of the process:
How It Works (Selective Photothermolysis)
Targeting Ink: The laser emits a specific wavelength of light that is absorbed by the tattoo ink pigments (chromophores) in the dermis (the deeper layer of skin).
Shattering the Ink: When the ink absorbs this intense light energy, it heats up extremely fast, causing the ink particles to violently shatter into much smaller fragments.
Immune System Clearance: These shattered, microscopic ink fragments are then small enough to be naturally cleared away by the body's immune system (specifically, by cells called macrophages) over the weeks following the treatment.
Fading: With each successive treatment session, deeper layers of the ink are broken down and cleared away, causing the tattoo to gradually fade.
