        What is Endolift?

        Endolift is a minimally invasive laser treatment that tightens and contours the skin from the inside out. We insert a hair-thin laser fiber under your skin to melt stubborn fat and stimulate deep collagen production. It offers results to micmic a surgical lift but without the scalpel, scarring, or long recovery.

        How does it work?

        The laser energy serves two purposes:

        Melts Fat: It targets small pockets of fat (like in the jowls or under the chin) and liquefies them. It is not as effective as liposuction but probably the next best thing.

        Tightens Skin: It heats the internal tissue network, causing immediate retraction (shrinking) and triggering a long-term healing response that builds new, stronger collagen over the next 3–6 months.

        Is it painful?

        Most patients find the procedure very tolerable. We use a local anesthetic (numbing fluid) to completely numb the treatment area before we begin. You may feel some pressure or a strange "crackling" sensation during the treatment, but sharp pain is rare. Afterward, the area may feel sore or tender, similar to a deep bruise or a workout.

        What is the downtime?

        Social downtime is typically 3–7 days, primarily due to swelling. You may look "puffy" or like you have had dental work for the first few days. Bruising is possible but varies by patient. Most people feel confident returning to work and social events within a week.

        When will I see results?

        You may see some immediate tightening right after the procedure, but this is just the beginning. The real results appear as your body produces new collagen. You will see noticeable improvement at 4–6 weeks, with the final, peak results visible at 3–6 months.

        Is it safe?

        Yes, Endolift is FDA-cleared and considered very safe when performed by trained specialists. The laser features safety mechanisms to prevent overheating. Rare side effects can include temporary numbness or minor nerve weakness (which typically resolves on its own in a few weeks). It can be used pretty much anywhere on the body (undereyes, upper eyelids, jowls, neck, under arm, legs, buttocks, abdomen, etc).

        Endolift Post-Procedure Care: The Essentials

        * IMMEDIATE AFTERCARE *

        Chin Strap (Crucial): You must wear the provided chin strap to support your tissues as they heal. Wear this continuously as much as possible for the first 3 days, and then nightly for the first few weeks, or exactly as directed by your provider. This helps reduce swelling and ensures the skin adheres smoothly to the new contour, similar to facelift recovery.

        Medications: We have prescribed a course of steroids (to control swelling) and antibiotics (to prevent infection). Please follow the dosage instructions on the bottle and finish the full course unless otherwise instructed.

        Ice & Elevate: Apply ice packs (wrapped in a cloth) to the treated area for 15 minutes every hour for the first 24–48 hours. Sleep with your head elevated on 2 pillows for the first 3 nights to minimize swelling.

        * CLEANING & HYGIENE *

        Entry Points: You may have tiny pinpoint scabs where the fiber was inserted. Keep these clean and dry. You may apply a small amount of antibiotic ointment (like Bacitracin) if instructed.

        Washing: You can gently wash your face with a mild cleanser and cool water the next day. Do not scrub or rub the treated area.

        Makeup: Avoid makeup for 24–48 hours to prevent clogging the entry points.

        * ACTIVITY RESTRICTIONS *

        No Heat: Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and hot showers for 1 week. Heat can increase swelling.

        No Strenuous Exercise: Avoid heavy lifting or intense cardio for 1 week. Keeping your heart rate down helps reduce swelling and bruising.

        * WHAT TO EXPECT (NORMAL SYMPTOMS) *

        Swelling: Moderate swelling is expected and normal. It typically peaks on Day 2 or 3 and subsides over the next week.

        Numbness: The treated area may feel numb or "tight" for several weeks. This is a normal sign that the deep tissue is healing.

        Hardness: You may feel firm lumps or ridges under the skin. Do not massage them aggressively; they will soften and resolve on their own over 2–4 weeks.

        WHEN TO CALL THE CLINIC

        Contact us immediately if you experience:

        Sudden, severe pain not relieved by Tylenol.

        Pus or excessive redness at the entry points.

        What is CO2 Laser Resurfacing?

        This is an ablative laser procedure, meaning it removes the outer layers of damaged skin to reveal fresh, underlying skin. It is the "gold standard" for treating deep wrinkles, severe sun damage, acne scars, and uneven texture. It also stimulates significant collagen production for long-term tightening. Settings for resurfacing could be from a light peel to remove sunspots/freckles to significant contraction for skin tightening. Talk to your provider about your goals vs downtime.

        How much downtime should I expect?

        Because this is an intensive treatment, you should plan for 7–14 days of social downtime.

        Days 1–3: Significant redness, swelling, and oozing. You will likely not want to leave the house.

        Days 4–7: The skin will darken, crust, and peel.

        Days 7–14: Usually finished peeling. The skin is pink and healing. You can usually wear makeup to cover the pinkness after day 7-10.

        Is it painful?

        We use strong topical numbing cream (and rarely local anesthetic injections) to maximize your comfort. Most patients report feeling heat or a "sunburn" sensation during and immediately after the procedure, rather than sharp pain.

        How do I prepare for the procedure? (CRITICAL)

        To ensure safe healing and prevent complications, you must follow these guidelines:

        STOP Active Skincare (Vitamin A/Retinols): Discontinue all Retin-A, Tretinoin, Retinol, Glycolic Acid, and Salicylic Acid products 7–10 days prior to your appointment. These can make the skin too sensitive.

        STOP Blood Thinners: To minimize bleeding and bruising, avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin), Vitamin E, Fish Oil, and Omega-3 supplements for 1 week prior, unless prescribed by a doctor for a medical condition.

        No Tanning: You cannot have an active tan or sunburn. Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 4 weeks before treatment.

        Prescriptions: We will prescribe a course of Steroids (to reduce swelling) and Antibiotics (to prevent infection). Please fill these before your appointment if you want them to be ready at home.

        CO2 Laser Post-Care: The Essentials

        * IMMEDIATE AFTERCARE *

        Medications: Start your prescribed Antibiotics and SterAquaphorctly as directed on the bottle. Finish the full course of antibiotics unless instructed otherwise. If you were prescribed an antiviral (like Valtrex), continue taking that as directed.

        Keep it Moist (The "Occlusive" Rule): Your skin must never dry out. Apply a thick layer of the recommended ointment (e.g., Aquaphor, Vaseline, or specific post-care balm) continuously. If it feels tight or dry, apply more.

        Sleep Elevated: Sleep with your head propped up on 2 pillows for the first 3–4 nights. This is crucial to help drain fluid and minimize the significant swelling that occurs around the eyes.

        * CLEANING & HYGIENE *

        Gentle Washing: Wash your face 2–3 times a day with cool water and a very gentle cleanser (like Cetaphil or CeraVe). Use only your fingertips—do not use a washcloth or scrub.

        Vinegar Soaks (If Instructed): If we have advised vinegar soaks, mix 1 teaspoon of white vinegar with 1 cup of cool water. Soak clean gauze in the solution and gently lay it on the skin for 10–15 minutes to soothe and clean.

        Do Not Pick: As the old skin begins to darken and peel, do not pick, pull, or scrub it off. Let it slough off naturally during washing. Picking can cause scarring.

        * WHAT TO EXPECT *

        The "Ooze": It is normal for the skin to weep a clear, yellow fluid for the first 48 hours. This is part of the healing process.

        Redness: Your skin will be bright red (like a severe sunburn) for the first week, fading to pink over the next few weeks.

        Itching: As the skin heals (Days 4–7), it may become very itchy. You can take an over-the-counter antihistamine (like Benadryl or Zyrtec) to help.

        * STRICT SUN AVOIDANCE *

        No Sun: New skin is extremely sensitive to UV light. You strictly avoid direct sun exposure for 4 weeks. Once the skin has healed (after peeling is complete), you must wear a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every single day to prevent hyperpigmentation (dark spots)
